Grade 8 – Indoor Referee
Indoor soccer has no universal set of rules or Laws of the Game. Because of this, U.S. Soccer does
not provide training as it relates to certification. Officials may register as Indoor Referees if they are
currently registered at any grade level of Referee or Futsal Referee.

Previous Game Experience Not Applicable
Previous Grade Experience Not Applicable
MO - at a minimum indoor referees must
have taken the grade 8 outdoor course
prior to passing indoor training.
Training Not Applicable
MO - Indoor referees must pass the
entry indoor course to be certified. If
no USSF course available, it must be
Missouri state (SDI) approved.
Laws of the Game Test Not Applicable
MO - Must pass the current indoor entry
exam at the end of the entry indoor
Fitness Test Not Applicable
Practical Evaluation Not Applicable

 

Annual Recertification Requirements

Training Not Applicable
Must attend annual indoor recert if
available in the district they are
registered in.
Laws of the Game Test Not Applicable
For re-registration, must pass the current
online indoor recert exam.

Notes:

  • All State Referee Association requirements must be made public
  •  All training requirements can be completed online and/or in the classroom setting as determined by the
  • State Referee Association and there are no minimum number of hours associated with either requirement
  • At a minimum, U.S. Soccer recommends that training includes the completion of all
  • online training materials for the Grade 8 Futsal Referee Course
  • The passing test score is 80% and all testing requirements can be completed online and/or in the classroom setting as determined by the State Referee Association
